Compared to last week: All classes traded steady with moderate demand.
According to report contacts in region 2, one to one and a half inches of rain
fell this week with hay in the row. According to Crop Progress report May 13,
2019, in the Sacramento Valley, winter wheat progressed well. Small grains were
cut, alfalfa was cut and baled, corn was planted, and safflower progressed well
in Kings County. In Tulare County, wheat and alfalfa continued to mature. Silage
crops were being cut. Corn and cotton continued to be planted. Sunflowers were
planted and wheat harvest will begin soon in Imperial County. Hay is reported
FOB the stack or barn unless otherwise noted. Regions are defined at bottom of
report.
