Week Ending October 26, 2018
Hay supplies were limited this past week, again leaving customers in a quadry.
While the supplies were limited, better quality hay appeared and buyers were willing
to chase that quality. Additonally corn stalks began appearing at sales, but
appeared to sell at a disadvantage to oat straw. Weather continues to be beneficial
in Iowa for harvesting and some producers have managed to bale a 4th cutting of hay.
