Week ending October 19, 2018
Compared to last week all baled hay sold steady. Demand was good with
a lot of hay going out of state and going to local cattlemen. Demand was
very good for alfalfa cubes and sun-cured pellets. Several livestock
owners are procuring feed needs for the upcoming winter. Some snow
reported in some areas of the state late last week. More seasonal
temperatures this week allowing for hay producers to finish up on third
cutting of hay. All prices are dollars per ton FOB the field or hay barn
unless otherwise noted.
