Week Ending October 12, 2018
Compared to last week alfalfa sold fully steady with grass hay selling
steady. Ground and delivered products and dehy pellets sold steady.
Demand picked up a tick in some areas of the state as cold rain and snow
made its way in some areas of the state reminding livestock owners they
may need to procure some additional feed this fall. Some producers have
4th cutting on the ground and are hoping next week’s sunshine will aid in
the drying down process so it can be baled. There is quite a lot of cane
or millet to be mowed and baled across the state. Most farmers have been
shut down with harvest due to dam or wet conditions the last week. All
sales are dollars per ton FOB the field or hay barn, unless otherwise
noted.
